New Single-Use Plastics Ban In Force

The beginning of October marked the new ban of single-use plastic cutlery, polystyrene cups and balloon sticks from sale and distribution in England. 

The ban also extends to plastic polystyrene cutlery, bowls, trays and plates provided by restaurants, cafes, takeaways and catering companies. 

According to the latest figures from Defra, 2.7 billion items of single-use cutlery are used per year, with only 10% recycled.
